I dressed up as a EVIL purple minion today and greeted students at the front door! Apparently I take myself way too seriously! Lol it was fun to be silly and lighthearted and to just have fun and enjoy it! Students were dressed up as yellow minions! Hahaha so fun!
I found this in my draft posts and thought to finally post this trip from about 10 years ago. It was a really nice trip and allowed me to visit two beautiful countries where Arabic(I am also fluent in Arabic) is spoken! I hope to visit again soon! Maybe when I’m a school psychologist! ✅💟💯🎊⭐️💯✅
I am so excited to possibly arrange a visit from Aya Khalil, a children’s book author to Ledgeview Elementary School. I am excited to contact the teachers to see if they are ok with it. It will serve to promote so much diversity and respect for differences at my Internship Site. Nordonia is such an amazing district and I am enjoying internship so much. Here are just a couple of examples of Aya’s books and I am excited for her to possibly visit virtually!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and is preparing for the back to school season! How exciting! Beautifully different is a great book that is available at Akron Summit county public library for checkout!
Kendall, the author of his second book, Adversity road, is a friend I met through the Ohio Education Association. His passion for helping kids is inspiring and his books shed a light on what it means to persevere through adversity and to embrace life’s challenges!
This book would be a great addition to a classroom or home library for an elementary aged child!
Order his book here! Stay posted for if this book gets accepted into the library so you can borrow it for free!
Hello! Welcome to my reading club! I wanted to introduce myself! I am Noor and I am a graduate student studying to become a school psychologist! I currently have a Masters in Education in School Psychology and I am working on my education specialist degree. I have five years experience working in a diverse school district in Ohio and worked for the Ohio Education Association for two years as a statewide leader! I have also been a volunteer for MUHSEN. This is a nonprofit organization that aims to help individuals with disabilities.
Looking at the book selection at my public library, I saw a lack of representation in the books. I want to be part of incorporating books that promote diversity into my public library. I will share the books I help get accepted into the library on this blog! I wish I saw myself in the books I read as a child, furthering my mission to include these books.
I am very excited for what lies ahead and look forward to featuring amazing children’s books on my website. My hope is to help children build important social emotional skills and respect for diversity and differences! I hope you enjoy!
